Soundcore Rave Neo 2 vs Teufel Rockster Cross

Last updated: August 19, 2026

Short answer: the Soundcore Rave Neo 2. It ranks #20 of 77 large speakers by sound quality at $119.29; the Teufel Rockster Cross ranks #21 and costs $199.99, so there is not much of a tradeoff to weigh.

What the Soundcore Rave Neo 2 offers: A big improvement in sound quality over the original Rave Neo. Use bass up at higher volumes, but turn it off for lower volumes. The catch: Slight treble rolloff.

On the Teufel Rockster Cross side: Pretty neutral frequency response. More vocal/midrange-focused than the JBL Xtreme 4, thanks to a larger mid/bass driver - better suited to rock and jazz. Watch for: Outdoor mode can sound somewhat harsh due to the 4khz peak. Not as deep or full-sounding in the bass as the JBL Xtreme 4.

Buy the Soundcore Rave Neo 2. It ranks higher for sound quality than the Teufel Rockster Cross and costs less, so there is no real case for the other one.

Pros: Pretty neutral frequency response. More vocal/midrange-focused than the JBL Xtreme 4, thanks to a larger mid/bass driver - better suited to rock and jazz. Nicer upper-bass detail than the JBL Xtreme 4. Punchy, well-controlled bass that suits rock music, unlike the Soundcore Boom 2 Plus’s overboosted, uncontrolled bass even at stock tuning. Clear, detailed audio with good vocal presence and solid Bluetooth codec support even a couple years after release.

Cons: Outdoor mode can sound somewhat harsh due to the 4khz peak. Not as deep or full-sounding in the bass as the JBL Xtreme 4.
