The Sony GTK-XB72 is credited with exceptional sound quality, powerful bass and vibrant multi-colored LED lights, yet our notes also say it has no deep bass at all, a weird midrange peak, rolled off treble and overall strange tuning. The Rave+ has a pretty big lack of deep bass too, but adds customer-praised clarity and definition. Both are rated below 3.0/5 among the 43 party speakers; for better sound, the JBL Partybox Club 120 ranks #6 at $349.95.
Buy the Soundcore Rave+ only if you find one used in good condition; both are discontinued, and it is the better rated of the two. For a new speaker, start with the JBL Partybox Club 120 instead.
