Short answer: the Soundcore Motion X600 for better sound quality, the Soundcore Motion X500 for the lower price. The Soundcore Motion X600 ranks #19 of 77 large speakers at $150. The Soundcore Motion X500 ranks #24 at $99.99, $50.01 cheaper.
What the Soundcore Motion X600 gets right: Firmware 4.2.9 brought a big improvement in sound quality over earlier releases, and Oluv’s EQ is available for the best sound. Set against that: the stock frequency response is wavy, spatial mode is needed for the best sound, it needs a different EQ at each volume step, there’s a dip in the upper bass around 120Hz, treble runs a little hot, it would only rank around #20 without the Oluv EQ, and even with it, bass isn’t very deep and the sound stays a little unnatural.
The case for the Soundcore Motion X500: 40W of stereo output from a 3-driver layout with two tweeters and a woofer, an IPX7 weatherproof rating, a compact and very portable build with fine construction quality for the price, an immersive Spatial Dynamic mode, and battery life that comes close to its 12-hour claim. The catch: it’s a little bright on top (a custom EQ can flatten that out), with peaks at 250Hz and a dip at 1kHz.
Buy the Soundcore Motion X600 if sound quality matters more than the price. Buy the Soundcore Motion X500 if the price matters more than sound quality.

Pros: Firmware 4.2.9 is a big improvement in sound quality over previous releases. Try this Oluv EQ for the best sound quality
Cons: Stock frequency response is wavy. Use spatial mode for best sound quality. Need a different EQ for each volume step. Dip in the upper bass around 120hz. Rising frequency response, treble a little hot. Would be ranked around #20 without the Oluv EQ. Even with the Oluv EQ the bass isn’t very deep and the sound is still a little unnatural.
