It ranks #19 of 105 large speakers by sound quality (rated 4.3/5) at $159.99 and is still sold new; the Sony SRS-XB43 ranks #56 (rated 3.5/5) and is discontinued, so it is only an option used. The Sony SRS-XB43’s replacement, the Sony ULT Field 5, is rated 3.5/5 at $348.
The Soundcore Motion X600 is the better-sounding, louder pick. Firmware 4.2.9 is a big improvement in sound quality over previous releases. Alan Ross Reviews measured it at 104dB at full volume, against 99dB for the Sony SRS-XB43. At 5.2 lbs (2.35 kg) it weighs noticeably less than the Sony SRS-XB43 at 6.5 lbs (2.95 kg). The tradeoff: Stock frequency response is wavy.
The Sony SRS-XB43 is the longer-running pick. Full, warm sound with deep, rich bass. It is rated for 24 hours of battery against 12 for the Soundcore Motion X600. It supports AAC Bluetooth, which the Soundcore Motion X600 lacks. It has an adjustable EQ, which the Soundcore Motion X600 lacks. The catch: Not as loud as others in the category.
Buy the Soundcore Motion X600. It is rated higher for sound quality and still sold new, while the Sony SRS-XB43 is discontinued.

Pros: Firmware 4.2.9 is a big improvement in sound quality over previous releases. Try this Oluv EQ for the best sound quality. Measured bass extension of 52Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Stock frequency response is wavy. Use spatial mode for best sound quality. Need a different EQ for each volume step. Dip in the upper bass around 120Hz. Rising frequency response, treble a little hot. Would be ranked around #20 without the Oluv EQ. Even with the Oluv EQ the bass isn’t very deep and the sound is still a little unnatural.

Pros: Full, warm sound with deep, rich bass. Twin passive radiators deliver Extra Bass impact. IPX7 waterproof and rugged. Up to 24 hour battery (14 hours with lights on). Party lights for visual appeal. Measured bass extension of 53Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Not as loud as others in the category. Speaker will not remain at max volume and will turn itself down automatically. Discontinued.
Setup: Try out +3 +6 +3 as an EQ to get it as flat as possible as mentioned in the Alan Ross video
