The Soundcore Motion Boom is the better-sounding, longer-running pick. A great value waterproof boombox that floats, with loud, bass rich sound, a long battery and a phone charging port. It is rated for 24 hours of battery against 10 for the Devialet Mania. At 3.3 lbs (1.5 kg) it weighs noticeably less than the Devialet Mania at 5.1 lbs (2.3 kg). It is rated IPX7 against IPX4 for the Devialet Mania. The catch: Not as neutral or detailed as other top ranked speakers.
The Devialet Mania is the deeper-bass pick. A compact, good looking Wi-Fi and Bluetooth stereo speaker with Alexa built in and splash resistance. Its bass reaches about 47Hz before falling 10dB, against 53Hz for the Soundcore Motion Boom. It keeps a wired aux input, which the Soundcore Motion Boom lacks. The catch: Not very loud.
