The Soundcore Boom 3i is the better-sounding, deeper-bass choice. Looks to be designed as a direct competitor to the JBL Charge 5 with a very similar sound profile, warm tuned with boosted bass. Its bass reaches about 56Hz before falling 10dB, against 85Hz for the Tribit Stormbox Mini. It is rated for 16 hours of battery against 12 for the Tribit Stormbox Mini. It has an adjustable EQ, which the Tribit Stormbox Mini lacks. The tradeoff: Not quite as good as a JBL Charge 5, doesn’t go quite as loud or sound quite as balanced, but very very close.
What the Tribit Stormbox Mini does well: IPX7 waterproof, excellent battery life (12 hours), RGB LED lighting, app support with AAC codec, true wireless stereo (TWS) capability, USB-C charging. It keeps a wired aux input, which the Soundcore Boom 3i lacks. It plays in stereo from a single unit, unlike the Soundcore Boom 3i. The tradeoff: Lacking quite a bit of bass.
Buy the Soundcore Boom 3i. It is rated higher for sound quality and still sold new, while the Tribit Stormbox Mini is discontinued.

Cons: Lacking quite a bit of bass. Sounds hollow and thuddy. Just not great overall. Discontinued; Tribit has retired it, superseded by the Tribit Stormbox Mini+.
