Short answer: the Soundcore Boom 3i is the fuller, more powerful speaker, while the Soundcore 3 or Select 2 is the lighter long-battery option for basic outdoor use. Boom 3i is a 50W, IP68 model with a dedicated woofer and tweeter, 16-hour claimed battery and app EQ. Its warm, boosted-bass voicing is close to a Charge 5, though it needs current firmware to avoid earlier bass-distortion problems.
The smaller Soundcore 3 or Select 2 has more than 20 hours of rated battery life, IPX7 protection, PartyCast and app EQ. Its main tradeoff is less bass, which is unavoidable beside the Boom’s larger driver system.
This is chiefly a size decision. Boom 3i is worth carrying when you want stronger bass and output; the smaller Soundcore is for easy day-to-day portability.
Buy the Soundcore Boom 3i if you want stronger bass, 50W output, IP68 protection and a Charge 5-like sound profile.
Buy the Soundcore 3 if you want a lighter, longer-running speaker for simple IPX7 outdoor use.
There is a real battery-life gap here: the Soundcore 3 is rated for 24 hours, the Soundcore Boom 3i only 16 hours.

Soundcore Boom 3i: $118.99 Amazon B&H Photo Video eBay
Pros: Looks to be designed as a direct competitor to the Charge 5 with a very similar sound profile, warm tuned with boosted bass. Better value for the money than the Charge 5. Measured bass extension of 56Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Not quite as good as a Charge 5, doesn’t go quite as loud or sound quite as balanced, but very very close. An earlier firmware version had some bass distortion, update your firmware in the Soundcore App
