The Boom 3i is the much bigger speaker. A 94mm woofer and separate tweeter on 50W of power give it warm, bass-boosted sound close to a JBL Charge 5, with bass reaching about 56Hz before falling 10dB. It is rated IP68, adds an app with EQ and lighting, and supports AAC. Update its firmware, since an early version had some bass distortion.
The Soundcore 2 is a budget speaker with a few practical extras. It plays in stereo from two 38mm drivers, has a claimed 24 hours of battery life and an aux input, and is rated IPX7. But Soundcore specifies it only down to 70Hz, so there is little deep bass, and there is no app or EQ. It also still charges over Micro USB.
Buy the Soundcore Boom 3i when sound quality outweighs the price for you, and the Soundcore 2 when the price outweighs sound quality instead.
Battery life favors the Soundcore 2: rated for 24 hours against 16 hours for the Soundcore Boom 3i.

Pros: Looks to be designed as a direct competitor to the JBL Charge 5 with a very similar sound profile, warm tuned with boosted bass. Better value for the money than the JBL Charge 5. Measured bass extension of 56Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Not quite as good as a JBL Charge 5, doesn’t go quite as loud or sound quite as balanced, but very very close. An earlier firmware version had some bass distortion, update your firmware in the Soundcore App
