The Sony SRS-XP500 is the better-sounding, deeper-bass option. A smaller party speaker with balanced, punchy sound, a long battery, splash resistance, and a mic input for karaoke. Its bass reaches about 42Hz before falling 10dB, against 60Hz for the Sharp PS-929. It is rated for 20 hours of battery against 13 for the Sharp PS-929. It supports LDAC Bluetooth, which the Sharp PS-929 lacks. The tradeoff: Not as loud and bass not as deep as a JBL Partybox 100 or JBL Partybox 110.
The Sharp PS-929 is the lighter option. A battery party speaker with two woofers, a Super Bass button, lights, mic and guitar inputs, and a wired mic included. At 19 lbs (8.6 kg) it weighs noticeably less than the Sony SRS-XP500 at 24.7 lbs (11.2 kg). The tradeoff: Bass extension is only about 60Hz at -10dB, so it lacks deep bass.
