Short answer: the Zealot ZE41 for value, if you can live with the bulk. It ranks #17 of 113 and the source calls it the absolute best value for bass performance, play time and max volume in the boombox class, but it is the heaviest and biggest boombox around. The Skullcandy Barrel is IPX5 with a synced LED lightshow and bass that isn’t as deep as the top ranked speakers.
Buy the Zealot ZE41. It is rated higher for sound quality, and the $74.95 saving on the Skullcandy Barrel is not enough to make up the difference.
If battery life is a priority, the Skullcandy Barrel is rated for 12 hours versus 4 hours for the Zealot ZE41.
