Short answer: the Monoprice SW-12 for value, the KEF KC62 for build and compact size. The SW-12 is a 12-inch ported sub with 400W RMS (600W peak) that hits hard with clean, tight transient response for $364.99. Set against that are entry-level build quality, ported enclosure room interaction, and a lower 112.3 dB output capability than the KC62’s dual 6.5-inch force-canceling, 1000W sealed design.
Buy the Monoprice SW-12. It is rated higher for sound quality than the KEF KC62 and costs less, so only choose the other one for a particular feature it does better.
