JL Audio Dominion d108: $1,100 eBay
Pros: Independent CEA-2010 testing records 79.7 dB at 20 Hz and 103.0 dB through 40-80 Hz. The sealed enclosure with 8” (203mm) driver is best suited to upper-bass support in a modest room.
Cons: Deep-bass output is limited relative to its midbass result, so it is not the right choice for the lowest movie effects. The 288.8H x 254.0W x 336.0D mm cabinet and 12.0 kg mass still need deliberate placement and calibration.

Rythmik F12: $1,120 Rythmik Audio eBay
Pros: Sealed 12-inch servo with 370W RMS offers excellent value. Very musical and can disappear in small rooms. Digs to 14Hz with excellent build quality and well-braced cabinet.
