The Tribit goes deeper but sounds quite muddy with boosted lower and upper bass and boosted treble around 6kHz, while the Encore is a great sounding, somewhat boosted bass party speaker with 2 wireless microphones and 10 hours at medium volume.
Buy the Tribit Stormbox Blast 2 if you want one new; the JBL Partybox Encore is discontinued, so only look for it used.
If water resistance matters to you, the Tribit Stormbox Blast 2 at IP67 (brief submersion) holds up far better than the JBL Partybox Encore at IPX4 (splashing).

Pros: JBL Partybox Encore uses 135mm woofer + 2x 20mm tweeters. Its 6.3 kg, claimed 6 hours (Manufacturer specified) battery life, IPX4 protection, aux input, up to 110dB and stereo playback make it a practical option for its intended room or portable use. A great sounding party speaker with somewhat boosted bass and two included wireless microphones. Measured bass extension of 38Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Bass is limited by its 38Hz specification. Only IPX4 splash resistance. Discontinued.

Tribit Stormbox Blast 2: $299.99 Amazon eBay
Older model: the Tribit Stormbox Blast (ranked higher, rated 4.5/5).
Pros: Pretty deep bass. Measured bass extension of 40Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Sounds quite muddy with the boosted lower and upper bass. Boosted treble around 6kHz. Xbass mode makes it sound even more muddy. Nowhere near as neutral and balanced as the first Blast and a big downgrade unless you only care about max volume
