JBL Partybox 110 vs Philips NX200

The JBL Partybox 110 is the better-sounding, deeper-bass choice. Very neutral sound, slightly better than the JBL Partybox 100. Its bass reaches about 41Hz before falling 10dB, against 55Hz for the Philips NX200. It is rated IPX4, while the Philips NX200 has no water resistance. It has an adjustable EQ, which the Philips NX200 lacks. Watch for: Bass isn’t as deep as the JBL Partybox 100.

The Philips NX200 is the lighter choice. 160W maximum output (80W RMS), 2x 2” tweeters + 2x 5.25” bass drivers. At 17 lbs (7.7 kg) it weighs noticeably less than the JBL Partybox 110 at 23.8 lbs (10.8 kg). Watch for: No deep bass, mids are a little harsh.

Pros: Very neutral sound, slightly better than the JBL Partybox 100. Measured bass extension of 41Hz (-10dB).

Cons: Bass isn’t as deep as the JBL Partybox 100. Just as loud and slightly deeper than a Tribit Stormbox Blast which is way smaller with better sound. Increase treble one step in the app to make it more neutral.
