The JBL Partybox 110 is the battery-powered, lighter choice. Very neutral sound, slightly better than the Partybox 100. Its battery is rated for 12 hours, while the JBL Partybox 1000 needs an outlet. At 23.8 lbs (10.8 kg) it weighs much less than the JBL Partybox 1000 at 75 lbs (34 kg). It is rated IPX4, while the JBL Partybox 1000 has no water resistance. The tradeoff: Bass isn’t as deep as the Partybox 100.

Buy the JBL Partybox 1000 at $1,099.95 for a large party speaker, or the JBL Partybox 110 at $299.95 for a party speaker instead.

Pros: Sounds right up there with the JBL Partybox Ultimate that replaced it, and is the better value of the two. A 12-inch down-firing woofer, two 7-inch midranges and a compression horn tweeter run on 1100W, with mic and guitar inputs and a waterfall light show. A handle and wheels make the 34 kg cabinet easy to move.

Cons: Very large and heavy. No battery. No app.

Pros: Very neutral sound, slightly better than the Partybox 100. Measured bass extension of 41Hz (-10dB).

Cons: Bass isn’t as deep as the Partybox 100. Just as loud and slightly deeper than a Stormbox Blast which is way smaller with better sound. Increase treble one step in the app to make it more neutral.
