Neither speaker is a sound-quality pick, but the Go 3’s complaints are shorter. Its only real knock is “not much bass at all” with a strange peak in the mids. The Sound Pocket’s cons list is longer: light bass, harsh vocals above roughly 80% volume, and a body that vibrates and walks across hard surfaces at higher volume when standing upright. Both are pocket-sized clip-and-go speakers rather than anything built for critical listening.
Battery life clearly favors the Xiaomi. It’s rated for 10 hours against the Go 3’s 5, doubling how long it lasts between charges, though its own cons note a slow 3-hour charge time versus the Go 3’s 2.5 hours. The Xiaomi also adds Bluetooth 5.4 with true wireless stereo pairing to link two units together, a feature the Go 3 doesn’t have at all.
The Go 3 counters with slightly more rated output (4.2W against the Xiaomi’s 5W is close, so this one’s roughly a wash) and a rope loop built into the body for clipping to a bag, a physical convenience the Xiaomi doesn’t offer. Both carry the same IP67 waterproof rating and near-identical weight, just under half a pound each.
Buy the JBL Go 3 if you want the shorter list of sound complaints and the built-in clip loop, and 5 hours of battery is enough for how you’ll use it.
Buy the Xiaomi Sound Pocket if double the battery life, stereo pairing, and a lower price matter more than the extra vocal harshness at higher volumes.

Xiaomi Sound Pocket: $22.62 Amazon Aliexpress eBay
Pros: A genuinely pocketable 200g speaker with IP67 protection, USB-C charging, speakerphone capability and TWS pairing. Independent listening finds it surprisingly loud and clear for hotel rooms, patios and travel, with acceptable sound at moderate volume.
Cons: Its 5W driver has little real bass, and vocals can become harsh as volume rises beyond roughly 80%. When upright on a hard surface it can vibrate or walk around, and the claimed 10-hour battery life applies only at modest volume; full recharging is slow at around three hours.
