Short answer: the JBL Authentics 300. It ranks #40 of 89 boombox speakers, while the Bumpboxx Flare 6 sits near the bottom of the same class at #71, and the two cost about the same. That is not a close call.
The Authentics 300 leans on smart-home integration instead of raw loudness. It runs both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant at the same time, which is rare for a smart speaker, and it adds Wi-Fi with multi-room support, a feature the Flare 6 does not have at all. Its cons are real, though: narrow imaging and bass that is not as deep as its rivals, plus peaky upper mids and no IP rating whatsoever.
The Flare 6 trades sound quality for volume and toughness. Its pros text is limited to getting pretty loud, and its cons call out thuddy, shallow bass. Buy the JBL Authentics 300 for measured sound quality and the smart assistant support, and accept that you will need to keep it away from water and splashes.
Buy the Bumpboxx Flare 6 only if water resistance and an FM tuner matter more to you than how the speaker actually sounds, since its own review notes put it near the bottom of the boombox class.
There is a real gap in water resistance: the Bumpboxx Flare 6 at IPX6 (powerful water jets) against the JBL Authentics 300, which has no water resistance.
