JBL 4329P vs Genelec S360

Last updated: October 1, 2026

Short answer: the JBL 4329P for a living room, the Genelec S360 for a control room. The 4329P reaches deeper than its size suggests, with anechoic output to 30Hz (measured F3 31Hz) and response into the low 20s in-room, though it has no HDMI input. The S360 is a 10 inch two-way that peaks over 128dB with GLM calibration, but its 1.16 bass Q is the highest measured and can bump near port tuning.

JBL 4329P vs Genelec S360

On the JBL 4329P side: Genuinely full-range performance for a bookshelf-style speaker - anechoic response extends to 30Hz (measured F3 31Hz), reaching into the low 20s Hz range in-room depending on placement, with strong bass authority rather than a rolled-off, thin low end. The catch: No HDMI input, a real drawback if you want to run these directly off a TV’s ARC.

Buy the Genelec S360. It is rated higher for sound quality and still sold new, while the JBL 4329P is discontinued.

JBL 4329P ranking card

Pros: Measured -3dB extension of 32.2Hz provides deeper native bass than the smaller 4305P. Integrated amplification and streaming make it convenient for a full-range living-room system, and its larger format is useful when scale matters. Measured bass extension of 31Hz (-3dB), with a measured sensitivity of 102.2dB.

Cons: The measured 4.5dB response span from 300Hz to 5kHz includes a notable midrange dip, so it is not as neutral as its size and price might suggest. Its 6.72 ideal-subwoofer score trails the 4305P. There is no HDMI connection for the simplest TV hookup. Discontinued.

Genelec S360 ranking card

Pros: A strong choice when professional output capability and listening distance matter. The measured 2.0dB response span from 300Hz to 5kHz, 39.6Hz -3dB extension and 7.70 ideal-subwoofer score support balanced sound, while GLM provides room-integration tools. It is capable of peak output over 128dB. Measured bass extension of 39.6Hz (-3dB).

Cons: The substantial enclosure and installation requirements make it excessive for many desks. Its tonal measurements do not surpass the best smaller monitors simply because it can play louder. Deep-bass reproduction still benefits from a subwoofer, especially in high-output systems. The fitted bass-alignment Q of 1.16 suggests a mild bump near the port tuning rather than a clean rolloff.
