The Boombox 2 runs 24 hours at default volume and 20+ hours even at 60% volume, though it is somewhat bass heavy and boomy. The Onyx Studio 8 has warm sound with boosted bass but is not as loud as others.
Buy the Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 8 only if you find one used in good condition; both are discontinued, and it is the better rated of the two. For a new speaker, start with the Tribit Stormbox Blast instead.
If water resistance matters to you, the JBL Boombox 2 at IPX7 (brief submersion) holds up far better than the Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 8 at no water resistance.
