Short answer: it depends on whether the 2kHz dip or the beamwidth bothers you more. The Genelec 8050B’s CEA2034 spinorama shows a very good on-axis response with excellent directivity, though a dip around 2kHz appears in both the on-axis and predicted in-room measurements. The HEDD Type 20 MK2 has a nice flat on-axis response with a very smooth directivity index, but its horizontal beamwidth is asymmetric (+60/-80 degrees) and narrows above 10kHz. The Genelec 8050B is discontinued; its replacement is the Genelec 8350A.
Buy the HEDD Type 20 MK2. It is rated higher for sound quality, and the Genelec 8050B is discontinued, so it is only available used.
