What the Fluid Audio Image 2 does well: Three-way studio monitors with useful bass reach, broadly balanced mids, and DSP tools for studio installs. The tradeoff: The 6.80 ideal-subwoofer score places its measured native tonality below the leading monitors.
The case for the JBL 4329P: Discontinued powered horn speakers with deep bass, streaming, and Bluetooth, a convenient full range living room system. It keeps a wired aux input, which the Fluid Audio Image 2 lacks. The tradeoff: The measured 4.5dB response span from 300Hz to 5kHz includes a notable midrange dip, so it is not as neutral as its size and price might suggest.
Buy the Fluid Audio Image 2 new; the JBL 4329P is no longer sold new, so it only makes sense as a used find.
