The tradeoff: High-resolution input support is not a guarantee of perfect tuning, and the fixed internal amplification prevents the gradual upgrades possible with separates.
The case for the PreSonus Eris E5: Balanced XLR/TRS and RCA inputs plus placement adjustment make the original Eris E5 easy to connect to studio or consumer sources. It has an adjustable EQ, which the Edifier S1000MKII lacks. The catch: A fuller bass balance is not necessarily neutral.
