What the Diamondboxx L2 does well: High-fidelity Class A/B amps with good bass response and clear sound at all volumes. The tradeoff: Boomyness in the 100Hz region.
What the Sony GTK-XB90 does well: Deep punchy EXTRA BASS technology for party use. The catch: Bass is muddy and not deep, weird midrange peak, rolled off treble and overall strange tuning.
One note: the Diamondboxx L2 is no longer in production and isn’t widely stocked new anymore.
Buy the Diamondboxx L2. It is rated higher for sound quality, and saving $571 with the Sony GTK-XB90 does not make up for the sound-quality gap.
There is a real battery-life gap here: the Diamondboxx L2 is rated for 48 hours, the Sony GTK-XB90 only 16 hours.
