Denon Home 400 vs Denon Home 350

Last updated: October 8, 2026

Short answer: the Denon Home 400. It ranks #9 of 24 powered desktop speakers by sound quality, rated 3.8/5, at $599; the Denon Home 350 ranks #9, rated 3.6/5, and costs $749, so there is not much of a tradeoff to weigh.

Denon Home 400 vs Denon Home 350

Why pick the Denon Home 400: The middle model in Denon’s 2026 Home range, replacing the measured Home 250. Watch for: No independent measurements yet, so its tonal balance and directivity can’t be compared directly with measured speakers; the rating is estimated from the measured Home 250 it replaces.

What the Denon Home 350 does well: RTINGS measured it getting pretty loud with lossless streaming support from platforms like Roon, Tidal and Spotify, and found its Alexa voice assistant support outstanding, with hands-free far-field mics built directly into the speaker. The catch: RTINGS measured a slightly boomy sound profile out of the box and disappointing directivity, so the sound changes noticeably off to the side of the cabinet, plus compression artifacts as it nears max volume.

Buy the Denon Home 400. It is rated higher for sound quality than the Denon Home 350 and costs less, which makes it the one to get unless you need something the other one does better.

About the ratings: the Denon Home 400’s rating is estimated from measured siblings and predecessors rather than its own measurements, with a likely range of 3.4 to 4.1, so this verdict could change once it is measured.

Denon Home 400 ranking card

Older model: the Denon Home 250 (ranked lower, rated 3.7/5).

Same family: the Denon Home 200 (smaller model, estimated 3.6/5) and the Denon Home 600 (larger model, estimated 3.7/5).

Pros: The middle model in Denon’s 2026 Home range, replacing the measured Home 250. Six drivers with their own Class D amplifiers (two 114mm woofers, two 19mm tweeters and two 25mm up-firing drivers) give wide stereo and height for Dolby Atmos Music. HEOS multi-room, AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, USB-C and 3.5mm inputs are built in.

Cons: No independent measurements yet, so its tonal balance and directivity can’t be compared directly with measured speakers; the rating is estimated from the measured Home 250 it replaces. Its up-firing drivers need a reflective ceiling to add height, and it is 300mm wide.

Denon Home 350 ranking card

Newer model: the Denon Home 600, ranked higher, estimated 3.7/5.

Same family: the Denon Home 150 (smaller model, rated 3.5/5) and the Denon Home 250 (smaller model, rated 3.7/5).

Pros: RTINGS measured it getting pretty loud with lossless streaming support from platforms like Roon, Tidal and Spotify, and found its Alexa voice assistant support outstanding, with hands-free far-field mics built directly into the speaker. Two 0.75-inch tweeters, two 2-inch midrange drivers and two 6.5-inch woofers are each driven by their own Class D amp, six in total, and the companion app adds bass and treble sliders for room-to-room tuning.

Cons: RTINGS measured a slightly boomy sound profile out of the box and disappointing directivity, so the sound changes noticeably off to the side of the cabinet, plus compression artifacts as it nears max volume. Bluetooth latency measured extremely high on both iOS and Android, making it a poor match for watching video over Bluetooth, and there’s no battery, so it’s an indoor, mains-powered speaker only.
