The Middleton II has far deeper bass for its size. Two 75mm woofers, two tweeters and two passive radiators reach 38Hz before falling 10dB, and it plays in stereo with a 5-band EQ, Stack linking and an IP67 rating. Its bass is boosted enough to drown the midrange, with an odd dip and peak through the mids.
The Katch G2 is a slim, premium stereo speaker that runs out of bass. It is fairly neutral at low volume and supports aptX HD, but it loses bass quickly above 40 percent volume and compresses at high levels. Added reverb blurs the imaging and gives it a hollow character. It is nearly identical to the first Katch.
Buy the Marshall Middleton II. It is rated higher for sound quality than the DALI Katch G2 and costs less, so it is the default pick unless a specific strength of the other one matters more to you.
