What the Cleer Audio Scene does well: Quite neutral frequency response, almost indistinguishable from the very neutral Flip 6 besides the worse bass extension. The tradeoff: Less bass extension than a Flip 6.
Why pick the JBL Flip 5: Compact and light (1.1 lb) with a carry lanyard. The catch: Not stereo.
One note: the JBL Flip 5 is no longer sold new, but at #70 of 150 medium speakers by sound quality it still outranks most current models, so used is worth considering.

Pros: Quite neutral frequency response, almost indistinguishable from the very neutral Flip 6 besides the worse bass extension. Measured bass extension of ~62Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Less bass extension than a Flip 6. No app, EQ, stereo pairing, or multipoint. Sound is fairly directional: best right in front of it. Bigger and heavier than most speakers this size.

Pros: Compact and light (1.1 lb) with a carry lanyard. Charges via USB-C, topping off in about 2.5 hours. IP67 rated. Measured bass extension of 59Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Not stereo. Boosted upper bass. Piercing sound when turned up. Peaky lower treble at higher volumes. Discontinued.
