Short answer: the Zeppelin Pro, and it costs less. It ranks #2 of 6 powered desktop speakers against the standard Zeppelin’s #1, and it costs $260 less.
The Pro is a mild refinement of an already excellent speaker, not a different one. Both share the same cabinet, the same 150mm woofer and dual 90mm FST midrange drivers, the same 240W amplification, and the same wide, neutral soundstage our notes describe as amazingly neutral thanks to the Zeppelin’s width. The Pro swaps in titanium dome tweeters and an improved 24-bit DAC, giving slightly better high-frequency detail on hi-res streams, and adds a Dynamic EQ mode the standard Zeppelin lacks entirely.
Given that the upgrade is modest, price is what actually separates them. Our notes point out that the Pro asks the same or less money for these extra features, which makes the standard Zeppelin hard to justify unless you find it discounted well below the Pro.
Neither speaker is built for anything but a stationary indoor setup. Both lack a battery and any water resistance, so treat this strictly as a home speaker for a desk, shelf, or media console, not something to carry outside.
Buy the Zeppelin Pro. It offers a titanium tweeter upgrade, a better DAC, and Dynamic EQ, all for less money than the standard model.
Buy the standard Zeppelin only if you can find it priced below the Pro, since the sound and build are otherwise nearly identical.

Pros: Amazingly neutral, quite a wide soundstage due to the width. Bass extension deeper than all others in category. Measured bass extension of ~32Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Nothing besides the lack of battery, lack of waterproofing, high cost and the Earfun Uboom X that’s so close to it in terms of sound quality for 7x less money. Basically an indoor only speaker. At this price point the Top Recommended Bookshelf Speakers are the better buy, with even better soundstage. Discontinued.
