Pros: A compact 120W boombox that uses a sealed chamber with passive radiators for bass, in a 3.2kg cabinet about half the weight of the Flare 8. Bumpboxx rates the battery at up to 32 hours, and it is IPX6 water resistant, the first Bumpboxx to carry a rating. Bluetooth, USB playback and a 3.5mm aux input, stereo pairing with a second Thump, five RGB lighting modes, a carry handle and an adjustable strap.
Cons: No independent measurements or tested reviews have been published, so its tonal balance, bass extension and real output can’t be compared with ranked speakers. Bumpboxx doesn’t publish its driver sizes, frequency response or Bluetooth codec support, and there are no microphone or guitar inputs like the larger Flare models have. IPX6 covers splashes and rain but not submersion.

Pros: Firmware 4.2.9 is a big improvement in sound quality over previous releases. Try this Oluv EQ for the best sound quality. Measured bass extension of 52Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Stock frequency response is wavy. Use spatial mode for best sound quality. Need a different EQ for each volume step. Dip in the upper bass around 120Hz. Rising frequency response, treble a little hot. Would be ranked around #20 without the Oluv EQ. Even with the Oluv EQ the bass isn’t very deep and the sound is still a little unnatural.
