Short answer: both are discontinued, and they are rated the same for sound quality, though neither ranks well in its class. (#118 and #119 of 134 over-ear headphones). Either one is only an option used, so choose on condition and price. Both are rated below 3.0/5 among the 134 over-ear headphones, and the HIFIMAN Ananda Nano, ranked #3 at $319, is a better place to start if sound quality matters.

Why pick the Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2: Wireless features are strong, with active noise cancelling, Bluetooth 5.2 and a wide codec list including aptX Adaptive and aptX HD, plus a built-in microphone and about 30 hours of battery life. The tradeoff: The bass boost is large enough to overwhelm the low mids on some tracks, and a peak of nearly 7 dB near 8.7 kHz plus treble about 4 dB hot adds a bright, splashy edge to cymbals.
The case for the Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2e: Active noise cancelling, Bluetooth 5.2 with SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD and aptX Adaptive, a built-in microphone and about 30 hours of battery cover the wireless essentials. Watch for: Sub-bass is about 6 dB over target and bass about 5 dB over, so the low end is heavy and can mask the lower midrange, which is itself about 1.6 dB warm.
Buy the Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2 or the Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2e, whichever you find used in better condition; both are discontinued. For a new speaker, start with the HIFIMAN Ananda Nano instead.

Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2: $230.00 Discontinued Amazon eBay
Newer model: the Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2e, ranked lower, rated 2.7/5, released Sep 2023 (also discontinued). See every Bowers & Wilkins Px7 generation.
Pros: Wireless features are strong, with active noise cancelling, Bluetooth 5.2 and a wide codec list including aptX Adaptive and aptX HD, plus a built-in microphone and about 30 hours of battery life. Sub-bass is about 5 dB above target and bass about 7 dB above, which gives plenty of rumble for bass-heavy music. The midrange from 1 to 6 kHz stays within about 1 dB of target, so voices keep their natural place.
Cons: The bass boost is large enough to overwhelm the low mids on some tracks, and a peak of nearly 7 dB near 8.7 kHz plus treble about 4 dB hot adds a bright, splashy edge to cymbals. It weighs 307 g, on the heavier side for long wear. The Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2e has an equal rating but a smoother response. Discontinued.

Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2e: $344.83 Discontinued Amazon eBay
Older model: the Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2 (ranked higher, rated 2.7/5). See every Bowers & Wilkins Px7 generation.
Pros: Active noise cancelling, Bluetooth 5.2 with SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD and aptX Adaptive, a built-in microphone and about 30 hours of battery cover the wireless essentials. The response is smoother than the Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2, with the largest peak only about 3 dB near 11.9 kHz and treble within 1.5 dB of target. Presence and upper mids sit within about 1 dB of target, so voices sound natural.
Cons: Sub-bass is about 6 dB over target and bass about 5 dB over, so the low end is heavy and can mask the lower midrange, which is itself about 1.6 dB warm. A dip of nearly 7 dB near 9.7 kHz softens cymbals and sibilance. At 307 g it is on the heavier side. Discontinued.
