The Bose Soundlink Revolve is the lighter choice. True 360° sound stays consistent no matter where you stand around it, unlike most portable speakers. At 1.5 lbs (660 g) it weighs much less than the Sony ULT Field 3 at 2.6 lbs (1.2 kg). It keeps a wired aux input, which the Sony ULT Field 3 lacks. The tradeoff: Strange sizzling treble, peaks and dips.
The Sony ULT Field 3 is the longer-running, tougher choice. IP67 rated, dustproof and water resistant. It is rated for 24 hours of battery against 12 for the Bose Soundlink Revolve. It is rated IP67 against IPX4 for the Bose Soundlink Revolve. It supports LDAC Bluetooth, which the Bose Soundlink Revolve lacks. The tradeoff: Sounds a bit hollow, a bit boosted in the treble.
Buy the Bose SoundLink Revolve (Series II), the replacement for the discontinued Bose Soundlink Revolve; it is rated higher for sound quality than the Sony ULT Field 3.

Cons: Sounds a bit hollow, a bit boosted in the treble. Custom EQ and the ULT bass-boost button can’t be used together: turning on ULT disables the EQ. Bass is very weak with ULT off. Lost to the JBL Charge 6 in a side-by-side comparison despite being the larger speaker.
