The Bose SoundLink Plus is the better-sounding, lighter option. IP67 rated, IP67 water/dustproof. At 3.3 lbs (1.5 kg) it weighs much less than the Sony SRS-XG300 at 6.6 lbs (3 kg). Watch for: Boosted thuddy bass, but not as deep as the SoundLink Flex and you should probably just buy one of those instead if you want a Bose.
Why pick the Sony SRS-XG300: IP67 dust/waterproof rating. It keeps a wired aux input, which the Bose SoundLink Plus lacks. Watch for: Overly expensive.

Pros: IP67 dust/waterproof rating. Bluetooth 5.2 with multipoint pairing, LDAC codec support. Retractable carry handle for easy portability. Big boomy bass-forward sound, excellent for parties. Fast-charging: 10 minutes gives 70 minutes playback. Stamina mode optimizes battery. Measured bass extension of 54Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Overly expensive. Bass not as deep as competitors. Upper mids peak. Hollow sounding. Rolled off treble. Not much clarity. Does not float. Speaker will not remain at max volume and will turn itself down automatically. Discontinued.
