Bose Soundlink Mini vs Tribit Stormbox

Last updated: October 12, 2026

Short answer: both are discontinued, so this only matters if you are buying used. Used, the Bose Soundlink Mini is the better pick: it ranks #74 of 175 medium speakers by sound quality (rated 3.4/5), against #119 (rated 2.8/5) for the Tribit Stormbox. If you want one new, the Tribit Stormbox 2 replaces the Tribit Stormbox and is rated 3.0/5 at $69.99.

Bose Soundlink Mini vs Tribit Stormbox

The Bose Soundlink Mini is the better-sounding option. Compact aluminum build feels sturdy and dense. It plays in stereo from a single unit, unlike the Tribit Stormbox. The tradeoff: Boosted upper bass like most Bose speakers.

The Tribit Stormbox is the deeper-bass, longer-running option. IPX7 water resistant, dual pairing for stereo setup, excellent battery life (20 hours), instant on/off buttons, 97dB max volume. Its bass reaches about 52Hz before falling 10dB, against 58Hz for the Bose Soundlink Mini. It is rated for 20 hours of battery against 7 for the Bose Soundlink Mini. At 1.2 lbs (535 g) it weighs noticeably less than the Bose Soundlink Mini at 1.5 lbs (680 g). The tradeoff: Muffled sounding, treble dips from 5kHz-12kHz.

Buy the Bose Soundlink Mini only if you find one used in good condition; both are discontinued, and it is the better rated of the two. For a new speaker, buy the Tribit Stormbox 2, which replaces the Tribit Stormbox.

Water resistance is not close: the Tribit Stormbox is rated at IPX7 (brief submersion), well ahead of the Bose Soundlink Mini at no water resistance.
