Short answer: the Klipsch Groove, if you are buying new. The Bose Soundlink Mini 2 ranks higher than it (#65 vs #105 of 157 medium speakers, 3.4/5 vs 2.8/5) but is discontinued, so only consider it used; the Klipsch Groove is still sold new at $9.
The Bose Soundlink Mini 2 is the better-sounding pick. Compact aluminum build feels sturdy and dense. ~10 hour battery life; can pair to two devices at once and remembers up to 8. It plays in stereo from a single unit, unlike the Klipsch Groove. The tradeoff: Boosted upper bass like most Bose speakers.
The Klipsch Groove is the tougher choice. Pretty balanced sound in a compact, splash-resistant form factor. It is rated IPX4, while the Bose Soundlink Mini 2 has no water resistance. It supports AAC Bluetooth, which the Bose Soundlink Mini 2 lacks. The tradeoff: Bass doesn’t go as deep as class leaders.
Buy the Klipsch Groove if you want one new; the Bose Soundlink Mini 2 is discontinued, so only look for it used.
