The Bose Soundlink Flex 2nd gen is the better-sounding option. A very portable 1.3 lbs (586 g), IP67-rated speaker with a clear, well-balanced midrange that keeps voices and instruments intelligible. It supports aptX Adaptive Bluetooth, which the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 lacks. It links with other speakers (Bose Party mode), which the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 cannot. It has an adjustable EQ, which the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 lacks. Watch for: One Flex remains mono and cannot deliver genuine low-bass rumble; RTINGS also found the elevated treble can turn hi-hats and other high-frequency detail piercing.
The Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 is the lighter choice. IP67 rated, floats, and is rated to survive a 5 ft drop onto hard surfaces. At 0.9 lbs (420 g) it weighs noticeably less than the Bose Soundlink Flex 2nd gen at 1.3 lbs (586 g). The tradeoff: Not stereo, barely any bass.
Buy the Bose Soundlink Flex 2nd gen. It is rated higher for sound quality, and the $20 you would save on the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 does not close the gap.

It supports AAC and aptX Adaptive in addition to SBC, making it a stronger wireless option than most small rivals.

The claimed battery life is only 12 hours, and some owners report accelerated standby drain after firmware updates. Pros: IP67 rated, floats, and is rated to survive a 5 ft drop onto hard surfaces. 14 hour battery: longer than the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 2. Measured bass extension of 76Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Not stereo, barely any bass. Boosted 93Hz upper bass. Cuts bass heavily at high volume. You can tell from the micro USB that they are just feeding you the same crap hardware over and over, this is inexcusable for a product released in 2022. Not technically a 360 speaker, only front and rear.
