Short answer: the Beats Pill 2024. It ranks #76 of 172 medium speakers by sound quality (rated 3.3/5) at $129.95 and is still sold new; the Xdobo X8 ranks #154 (rated 2.3/5) and is discontinued, so it is only an option used.
The Beats Pill 2024 is the better-sounding, deeper-bass choice. A 1.5 lbs (680 g) IP67 portable speaker with 24-hour battery life that doubles as a USB-C power bank. Its bass reaches about 56Hz before falling 10dB, against 65Hz for the Xdobo X8. It is rated for 24 hours of battery against 15 for the Xdobo X8. At 1.5 lbs (680 g) it weighs noticeably less than the Xdobo X8 at 1.9 lbs (860 g). Watch for: Boosted upper bass, somewhat thuddy.
The case for the Xdobo X8: A compact 1.9 lbs (860 g) speaker with a useful practical feature set: IPX5 splash resistance, USB-C charging, aux and microSD playback, speakerphone and TWS pairing. It keeps a wired aux input, which the Beats Pill 2024 lacks. It has an adjustable EQ, which the Beats Pill 2024 lacks. The catch: The single full-range driver is the limitation.
Buy the Beats Pill 2024. It is rated higher for sound quality; the Xdobo X8 is no longer sold new.
