AsciLab F6Bs vs KEF Q350

Last updated: October 5, 2026

Short answer: the AsciLab F6Bs. It ranks #20 of 141 bookshelf speakers by sound quality (rated 4.5/5) and is still sold new; the KEF Q350 ranks #115 (rated 3.0/5) and is discontinued, so it is only an option used.

AsciLab F6Bs vs KEF Q350

The AsciLab F6Bs is the better-sounding choice. A slimmer, sealed, VESA 100 wall mountable variant of AsciLab’s F6B, trading the F6B’s passive radiator for a shallower 15.4cm deep cabinet that can go straight on a wall bracket. The catch: AsciLab’s own site shows the F6Bs sold out, though it remains in stock through resellers like Audiophonics and Tested Audio.

The KEF Q350 is the deeper-bass option. CEA2034 spinorama shows a reasonably flat on-axis response with excellent directivity, aided by the coaxial Uni-Q driver. Its bass reaches about 70Hz before falling 3dB, against 82Hz for the AsciLab F6Bs. Watch for: Two resonances at 700Hz and 1.2kHz show up on-axis, alongside an upper-bass boost.

Buy the AsciLab F6Bs. It is rated higher for sound quality, and the KEF Q350 is discontinued, so it is only available used.

AsciLab F6Bs ranking card

Pros: A slimmer, sealed, VESA 100 wall mountable variant of AsciLab’s F6B, trading the F6B’s passive radiator for a shallower 15.4cm deep cabinet that can go straight on a wall bracket. Off axis sound tracks the on axis response unusually consistently for a sealed 2-way this size, and on axis deviation measures a clean 0.25dB average. Measured bass extension of 82.0Hz (-3dB), with a measured sensitivity of 85.2dB.

Cons: AsciLab’s own site shows the F6Bs sold out, though it remains in stock through resellers like Audiophonics and Tested Audio. Bass extension is measured at 82.0Hz at -3dB, noticeably less than the passive radiator equipped F6B, and listening window smoothness measures only a moderate 0.39. The 4 ohm nominal impedance calls for a reasonably capable amplifier.

KEF Q350 ranking card

Newer model: the KEF Q3 Meta, ranked higher, rated 3.4/5.

Smaller model: the KEF Q150 (rated 3.7/5).

Pros: CEA2034 spinorama shows a reasonably flat on-axis response with excellent directivity, aided by the coaxial Uni-Q driver. Vertical directivity is better than most non-coaxial two-way speakers, another benefit of the concentric design. Measured bass extension of 70Hz (-3dB), with a measured sensitivity of 86dB.

Cons: Two resonances at 700Hz and 1.2kHz show up on-axis, alongside an upper-bass boost. Predicted in-room response looks a bit boomy as a result. Distortion climbs substantially in the 100Hz-1kHz range at 96dB SPL/1m, with a distinct resonance-driven peak around 900Hz-1kHz at both test levels. Discontinued.
