Coverage note. Speaker Ranking currently covers 2 Verdant Audio models across passive speakers. These are the products in our database, not a complete list of everything Verdant Audio makes.

What this page covers. The Verdant Audio models ranked here span passive speakers, including Verdant Audio Bambusa MG 1 and Verdant Audio Bambusa AL-1. Use each model’s category position to compare it with alternatives of the same size and use case.

This page lists all 2 Verdant Audio speakers ranked on this site across passive speakers. Each model is shown in the category where it competes, with its current rank and the size of that ranking.

Use the category position rather than the brand name alone: speakers from the same manufacturer can perform very differently by size, price and product family.

Medium Size Bookshelf Speakers

Ranked #156 of 177 in Medium Size Bookshelf Speakers - Verdant Audio Bambusa AL-1: $7,000 per pair Discontinued eBay

Verdant Audio Bambusa AL-1 ranking card

Pros: Distortion above 100Hz stays close to the noise floor at 96dB SPL/1m, quite low for a compact two-way. Measured bass extension of 70.3Hz (-3dB), with a measured sensitivity of 86.1dB.

Cons: CEA2034 spinorama and predicted in-room response both show too little bass output for its small 3” woofer, a real limitation for a $7000/pair speaker. Cumulative spectral decay (waterfall, including room modes) shows a number of resonances lingering through the bass and lower midrange. Overpriced for the performance and not recommended. Discontinued.

Large Size Bookshelf Speakers

Ranked #130 of 221 in Large Size Bookshelf Speakers - Verdant Audio Bambusa MG 1: $4,999 per pair Discontinued eBay

Verdant Audio Bambusa MG 1 ranking card

Pros: A striking laminated bamboo cabinet with deep bass for a two-way (49.8Hz at -3dB) and low distortion through the midrange and treble in Audio Science Review’s measurements. Its score of 5.15, or 7.10 with an ideal subwoofer, is higher than the Verdant Audio Bambusa AL-1. Measured bass extension of 49.8Hz (-3dB).

Cons: Discontinued, and Audio Science Review did not recommend it: a dip around the crossover is followed by elevated treble that can tire on long listening, vertical directivity is poor, and distortion rises around 400Hz. Expensive for its measured performance.
