Coverage note. Speaker Ranking currently covers 2 Fostex models across powered speakers. These are the products in our database, not a complete list of everything Fostex makes.
What this page covers. The Fostex models ranked here span powered speakers, including Fostex PM0.3 and Fostex PM0.3H. Use each model’s category position to compare it with alternatives of the same size and use case.
This page lists all 2 Fostex speakers ranked on this site across powered speakers. Each model is shown in the category where it competes, with its current rank and the size of that ranking.
Use the category position rather than the brand name alone: speakers from the same manufacturer can perform very differently by size, price and product family.

Small Size Powered Bookshelf Speakers
Ranked #16 of 47 in Small Size Powered Bookshelf Speakers - Fostex PM0.3: $90 per pair Discontinued eBay
Newer model: the Fostex PM0.3H, ranked lower, estimated 3.6/5 (also discontinued).
Pros: ASR’s Klippel measurements show relatively even midrange output, spanning 2.9dB from 300Hz to 5kHz. Its 6.46 predicted preference score with an ideal subwoofer is close to the Edifier MR3’s, so the small size does not rule out useful desktop sound when bass is handled separately. The review found that modest correction around the upper midrange could improve its balance. Measured bass extension of 108.4Hz (-3dB).
Cons: Very limited bass: the measured -3dB point is about 108Hz, and the standalone preference score falls to 3.02. Uneven off-axis response and substantial distortion when pushed prevent the respectable subwoofer-normalized score from translating into strong all-round performance. It belongs below the Edifier MR3 for standalone desktop use, and is unsuitable for loud playback. Discontinued.

Ranked #17 of 47 in Small Size Powered Bookshelf Speakers - Fostex PM0.3H Discontinued Estimated eBay
Older model: the Fostex PM0.3 (ranked higher, rated 3.6/5).
Pros: The update of the Fostex PM0.3 with a soft dome tweeter and an improved 15W + 15W amplifier, rated to 40kHz for high-resolution playback. Small desktop monitors with RCA and 3.5mm inputs.
Cons: No independent measurements yet, so its tonal balance and directivity can’t be compared with ranked speakers. A 3” woofer rated only to 110Hz means thin bass without a subwoofer, and 30W total limits how loud it plays. Discontinued.
