Last updated: October 10, 2026

Coverage note. Speaker Ranking currently covers 4 Audeze models across headphones. These are the products in our database, not a complete list of everything Audeze makes.

What this page covers. The Audeze models ranked here span headphones, including Audeze LCD-XC, Audeze LCD-2 Closed Back and Audeze MM-500. Use each model’s category position to compare it with alternatives of the same size and use case.

This page lists all 4 Audeze speakers ranked on this site across headphones. Each model is shown in the category where it competes, with its current rank and the size of that ranking.

Use the category position rather than the brand name alone: speakers from the same manufacturer can perform very differently by size, price and product family.

Over-Ear Headphones

Ranked #13 of 134 in Over-Ear Headphones - Audeze LCD-XC: $1,199.00 Amazon eBay

Audeze LCD-XC ranking card

Pros: A preference score of 89 and a 1.9 dB deviation show an overall balance that follows the Harman target closely with a neutral tilt. Upper mids are within half a dB of target, so voices sit naturally in the mix. The closed-back planar design isolates better than most high-end headphones and runs from a phone or laptop at 20 ohms and 100 dB/mW sensitivity.

Cons: Bass is clearly recessed, about 6 dB light in the sub-bass and about 2 dB light from 60 to 200 Hz, so kick drums and bass guitar lack weight. An 8.5 dB dip near 9.3 kHz and a 3 dB shortfall through the treble also soften cymbals and sibilance. At 677 g it is a heavy headphone, and it is rated below the HIFIMAN Arya Organic and Dan Clark Audio Noire X.

Ranked #48 of 134 in Over-Ear Headphones - Audeze LCD-2 Closed Back: $2,839.97 Amazon eBay

Audeze LCD-2 Closed Back ranking card

Pros: A preference score of 81 with a deviation of 2.2 dB in oratory1990’s measurement is a good result for a closed-back planar magnetic. Bass from 60 to 200 Hz and the midrange sit within 1 dB of target, giving full, natural tone. A 106 mm planar driver at 70 ohms and 101 dB/mW is efficient enough for most desktop amps, and the closed back keeps sound in.

Cons: Sub-bass is about 4.5 dB under target, and treble from 6 to 10 kHz is about 3.4 dB low, with a 10.7 dB dip near 9.1 kHz that rounds off cymbals and detail. The price is far higher than rivals like the Dan Clark Audio E3, which has a higher rating at a lower cost.

Ranked #82 of 134 in Over-Ear Headphones - Audeze MM-500: $1,699.00 Amazon eBay

Audeze MM-500 ranking card

Pros: The midrange from 200 Hz to 3 kHz tracks the Harman target within about 0.3 dB, so voices and instruments in the core of the music sound accurate. The planar magnetic driver is easy to power at 18 ohms and 100 dB per mW, so a phone or basic dongle can drive it. The open back gives a wide, airy presentation for critical listening at home.

Cons: Treble from 6 to 10 kHz sits about 7.3 dB under target, with a 15 dB dip near 9.6 kHz, so cymbals, hi-hats and vocal air sound dark and muffled. Sub-bass is about 5.8 dB light, which loses rumble in electronic and cinematic music. At 495 g it is heavy for long sessions, the open back leaks sound and offers no isolation, and the Denon AH-D7200 has a higher rating at a much lower price.

Ranked #100 of 134 in Over-Ear Headphones - Audeze LCD-GX: $899.00 Amazon eBay

Audeze LCD-GX ranking card

Pros: The open-back 106mm planar magnetic driver offers a large, spacious presentation. At 20 ohms and 100 dB/mW it can run from a phone or portable dongle, and the midrange stays close to target, with low mids about 0.7 dB above it.

Cons: Sub-bass is about 7 dB below target and presence is roughly 7 dB low, with a 10 dB dip near 4.9 kHz, so vocals and snare lack clarity and bass lacks rumble. Treble from 6 to 10 kHz is about 5 dB down, making the overall sound dark. The open back leaks sound and offers no isolation.
