The enclosure design explains most of the gap. The PB-1000 PRO is a ported 12-inch design rated down to 17Hz, while the SB-2000 is sealed and rated to 19Hz. That shows up directly in CEA-2010-A output: the PB-1000 PRO averages 115.9dB across the 40 to 80Hz band against 111.8dB for the SB-2000. At every measured frequency from 20Hz through 63Hz, the PB-1000 PRO puts out more SPL than the SB-2000, often by several dB.
The SB-2000 trades output for a smaller footprint and a punchier amp on paper. It packs a 550W RMS, 1500W peak Sledge amplifier into a compact cabinet, versus a larger ported box for the PB-1000 PRO that measures noticeably bigger in every dimension and weighs about 8 lbs more. Both subwoofers offer full app control (SVS app for the PB-1000 PRO, smartphone app with parametric EQ for the SB-2000), a 12-inch driver, and a 5 year warranty, so the choice comes down to output versus size.
Buy the PB-1000 PRO if raw bass output and low-end extension matter most and you have the room for a larger ported cabinet.
Buy the SB-2000 if a smaller sealed footprint that fits more places matters more to you than outright output, and you don’t mind paying more for it.
