Bose S1 Pro vs JBL Partybox 330

Last updated: August 9, 2026

Short answer: the JBL Partybox 330. It ranks #1 of 44 party speakers at $579.95; the Bose S1 Pro ranks #12 and costs $699, so there is not much of a tradeoff to weigh.

The case for the Bose S1 Pro: Extremely compact and light with flexible placement options. The catch: With full range music, it becomes distorted above ⅔ volume.

What the JBL Partybox 330 gets right: Handle and wheels are convenient. The catch: Sound quality is nearly identical to the 310 and Stage 320 despite the power bump.

One note: the Bose S1 Pro is discontinued, but it still ranks #12 of 44 party speakers, ahead of most of what is still sold new, so it is worth considering used.

Buy the Bose S1 Pro if the price matters more than the ranking. Buy the JBL Partybox 330 if the ranking matters more than the price.

Bose S1 Pro ranking card

Pros: Extremely compact and light with flexible placement options. Full sound with no lack of low-end output, crystal-clear audio quality. Three-channel mixer (2 mic/line + 1 line/Bluetooth). Auto EQ adjusts sound based on orientation. Multiple angled surfaces for various positioning including tilted portrait mode. Up to 11 hours battery life. Professional build quality.

Cons: With full range music, it becomes distorted above ⅔ volume. Better suited for voice amplification. Not as much deep bass as the Everse 8, midrange sounds reasonably balanced. Treble is pretty boosted. Not stereo. Designed for more loudness than deeper bass. Discontinued.

JBL Partybox 330 ranking card

Pros: Handle and wheels are convenient. Customizable lightshow. Removable battery. Slightly more power than the 310 and Stage 320 (280W vs 240W). Adds an optical TV input and USB-C lossless playback, plus dual mic and guitar inputs for karaoke and live sets.

Cons: Sound quality is nearly identical to the 310 and Stage 320 despite the power bump, so probably not worth an upgrade if you already own either of those. Removed the dedicated mic gain and microphone control knobs found on the 310/320. Some people don’t like the new lightshow design. Very large. Note, JBL daisychain is not compatible with any other non-JBL speaker and is possibly a fully digital signal.
