What this page covers. The B&W models ranked here span powered speakers and passive speakers, including B&W Zeppelin Pro, B&W Zeppelin and B&W 805S. Use each model’s category position to compare it with alternatives of the same size and use case.
This page lists all 3 B&W speakers ranked on this site across powered speakers and passive speakers. Each model is shown in the category where it competes, with its current rank and the size of that ranking.
Use the category position rather than the brand name alone: speakers from the same manufacturer can perform very differently by size, price and product family.

Large Size Powered Desktop Speakers
Ranked #1 of 4 in Large Size Powered Desktop Speakers - B&W Zeppelin Pro: $639.00 Amazon eBay
Pros: Titanium dome tweeters and an improved 24-bit DAC over the standard Zeppelin for slightly better high-frequency detail on hi-res streams. Dynamic EQ DSP. Customizable downward-firing light. Same wide soundstage and deep bass extension as the standard Zeppelin.
Cons: Same price as the standard Zeppelin for a fairly modest tweeter/DAC upgrade. Nothing besides the lack of battery, lack of waterproofing, high cost and the Earfun Uboom X that’s so close to it in terms of sound quality for 7x less money. Basically an indoor only speaker. Although at this price point I’d generally recommend some Top Recommended Bookshelf Speakers instead which will have even better soundstage.

Ranked #2 of 4 in Large Size Powered Desktop Speakers - B&W Zeppelin: $899.00 Amazon eBay
Pros: Amazingly neutral, quite a wide soundstage due to the width. Bass extension deeper than all others in category.
Cons: Nothing besides the lack of battery, lack of waterproofing, high cost and the Earfun Uboom X that’s so close to it in terms of sound quality for 7x less money. Basically an indoor only speaker. Although at this price point I’d generally recommend some Top Recommended Bookshelf Speakers instead which will have even better soundstage.

Discontinued B&W Models
Still ranked, and often still worth buying used, but no longer in production. Check availability before planning around one of these.
Large Size Bookshelf Speakers
Ranked #111 of 131 in Large Size Bookshelf Speakers - B&W 805S: $2500 Discontinued eBay
Pros: Bass and dynamic performance are strong for the cabinet size, playing very loud with well-controlled bass distortion. Horizontal beamwidth stays reasonably smooth through -6dB. Build quality has enough of a “quality feel” that the reviewer said it kept the speaker from the lowest possible rating.
Cons: CEA2034 spinorama shows directivity breaking down badly starting around 1kHz and staying poor to 3kHz - a wide crossover-region flaw the reviewer called “clearly flawed execution” that leaves vocals sounding recessed and masked without EQ correction. A high 4kHz crossover point appears to leave the tweeter’s small sub-enclosure resonating audibly during playback. Discontinued, superseded by the 805 Diamond/805 D4 series. Discontinued.
