Short answer: the Zaph Audio ZA5.2 TM. It ranks #6 of 21 bookshelf speakers at $383; the JBL Studio 530 ranks #8 and costs $399, so there is not much of a tradeoff to weigh.
What the JBL Studio 530 gets right: CEA2034 spinorama shows a fairly flat on-axis response. The catch: A peak around 1.4kHz is attributed to a tweeter resonance.
On the Zaph Audio ZA5.2 TM side: CEA2034 spinorama shows a fairly smooth on-axis response. The tradeoff: Predicted in-room response is tilted upward toward the treble, which the reviewer flagged as a likely audible brightness.
One note: the JBL Studio 530 is discontinued, but it still ranks #8 of 21 bookshelf speakers, ahead of most of what is still sold new, so it is worth considering used.
Buy the JBL Studio 530 if the price matters more than the ranking. Buy the Zaph Audio ZA5.2 TM if the ranking matters more than the price.

JBL Studio 530: $399 Discontinued
Pros: CEA2034 spinorama shows a fairly flat on-axis response. Predicted in-room response is very smooth aside from the high-frequency roll-off.
Cons: A peak around 1.4kHz is attributed to a tweeter resonance, and shows up as a distinct spike in harmonic distortion at that frequency along with a second resonance-driven bump around 2kHz. Response rolls off in the high frequencies and the tuning is a bit bass-shy overall. Cumulative spectral decay (waterfall) shows the same 1kHz-region resonances lingering in time. Discontinued.

Zaph Audio ZA5.2 TM: $383 Madisoundspeakerstore
Pros: CEA2034 spinorama shows a fairly smooth on-axis response. Cumulative spectral decay (waterfall) is clean overall, with only minor lingering energy around 400-700Hz.
Cons: Predicted in-room response is tilted upward toward the treble, which the reviewer flagged as a likely audible brightness. Low sensitivity of about 82dB requires more amplifier gain than typical. Relative harmonic distortion is excessive in the low frequencies, climbing to 6-8% under a 10-volt test signal in the 60-150Hz region - notably worse than typical two-way designs in this price range. Impedance runs close to 7 ohms through much of the audible range, with additional peaks that make it a moderately demanding load for a low-sensitivity design. Vertical directivity narrows unevenly above about 1kHz, typical of this MTM-adjacent tweeter/woofer spacing.
